Great Bay Karate has been teaching martial arts in Dover NH since 2001. It was opened by Master Brian Hebert and Master Robin Hebert, and was originally based out of the basement of St Charles Church. As the school grew it was moved to the Cocheco Mills where it spent several years maturing both as a student body and martial arts program before moving in September of 2014 to Main Street, in the Janetos Plaza. In 2015 Master Brian Hebert and Master Robin Hebert retired from teaching and entrusted the school to four of their senior students to carry on their traditions and philosophy of teaching the martial arts. These four students moved the school to its current location at 115 Industrial Park Drive in Dover, NH.
We train in the art of Tang Soo Do, a Korean style of Karate that traces its origin, alongside Taekwondo back 2000 years. Since 2008 we have been a member school of the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation, an internationally recognized organization that accredits all of our students’ belt rankings throughout the world.
Our studio’s training areas are comprised of Zebra mats providing the highest quality training surface for both our striking and grappling programs, while providing enough space to run multiple classes simultaneously.
